Time to read

Nicholas was doing his daily reading for school. He yelled at us a couple of times to come and get Bella out of his room. She goes in there and disturbs them while they try to read. She does this everyday. She wants their attention. The next time he calmly called us in there. There was something different about his call this time. He wanted us to see where Bella had finally laid down to rest at.

Annual Christmas Cookie decorating day

Each year, we decorate Christmas cookies at my house. The boys love doing this. They have a contest of who can decorate the nicest cookie. Of course, no one wins. Well, let me say that they all win. The prize? They get to keep their own cookies that they decorated.

Thanksgiving gathering 2008

We had our Thanksgiving gathering at Annette's house this year. I think that it had to be the most relaxing Thankgiving that our family had in years. I really enjoyed this time with my family. Thanks Annette for opening up your house.

After dinner, Annette organized a game of bingo. She bought prizes for any winners.... packs of gum and candy... it's the little things in life that makes everyone happy. :o) Great thinking on her part.

Jeff played the guitar and also did his tricks on the boys. Brendan got the best trick of all. Jeff had him look at a Tic-tac-toe game on the internet. It started as a game, but ended up scaring him. He jumped about mile. I tired to get a good picture, but I think that I missed the best reaction and got the tail end of it.

Katie & Jeramie got married

One of my friends and co-workers got married yesterday. She married Jeramie. He's also a teacher, but at Lakeview Middle School. She asked me to help make her center pieces. I went to her house on Friday... the day before the wedding. I knew that we were going to use pumpkins, but I had no idea. She explained it to me, but I just couldn't get the "jist" of it. In my mind, I didn't see that it would be attractive. I guess I was not picturing the right thing. This is the result of my adventure of making center pieces. She let us write our names on the bottom so we could keep the center piece that we made. Her wedding was beautiful!!!

5th grade Spartan Strut Victory!

Nicholas' class won spartan strut. Their class raised the most money for the PTA. Their reward was a pizza party in the court yard. He has two very awesome teachers. Mrs. Corstange and Mr. Johnson. He's having a great first year at the middle school. He has two awesome teachers.

Nicholas' 11th Birthday

Nicholas is all about jerseys. He got a Steve Nash basketball jersey and a Reggie Bush football jersey for his birthday. He could probably wear a jersey to school for a month straight. Well... I like jewelry, and he likes jerseys. what's the difference? :o)

The highlight of the night was compition!
Game Cube marathon...
pool table marathon...
ping pong table marathon...
air hockey marathon...
hide and seek...
It surely wasn't quiet in our house, but full of laughs and fun!

It was finally movie time. Nicholas got Kung Fu Panda for his birthday. My living room was warm and cozy with so many pillows and sleeping bags all over.

Happy Halloween! 2008

On Halloween, the boys had a half day of school. I worked all day. Well, I supposed to. I came home sick. I went right to the couch. Grandma and Papa came over to get the boys and took them to lunch and then to see Great Grandma.

We were invited to the Mitchell's house for Halloween Night. We stopped by and look who greeted us... it was Tony, and wait... Tony!

The boys were ready to go hit some houses for some candy. Is that AJ or is it Grandma Mitchell? Nick was a nerd at school, but for the night he was... oh heck, I don't know what he was. He had a mask and that's what counts on Halloween. Nate was Granderson from the Detroit Tigers. That's his favorite player.

The kids all had a great time running around and playing with each other. They were playing flash light tag and football all night long. Trick-or-treating was just the minor part of the night.

Cool... it's Meko Price!!!

One day we were driving our normal route to get to our house. Nicholas and Nate both let out a huge gasp of excitement... both at the same time. I had no idea what they were screaming about. They had seen a wooden purple and white, Lakeview, helmet in a front yard. This is a house that we pass by each and every day. It had #30 on it. I still had no idea what they were getting at. They both started saying with excitment that this was "Meko Price's" house. How the heck did they know that? They thought it was so cool that Meko lived so close to us and we had been passing his house so many times.
Meko is a senior at Lakeview High School. He was crowned Homecoming King and he's Lakeview's top football player and running back. He scores touchdowns... that's all I hear!!!
I then told them that he's in the 4th block class that I go into. They really went crazy when I told them that. They began to ask every question in the world about him. I told them that I didn't know that much about him, but he's very nice and smart.
One day I was in the main office at the High School. I saw a poster with Meko on it. I asked for two of them. I took them to Meko and asked if he would sign them for my boys. He was happy to. What a great guy. This made my boy's day. They were so excited to get them. They both hung them in their bed rooms immediately!
Thanks Meko!

Happy 67th Birthday Dad

Happy Birthday Dad!
We met for dinner at Champs Restaurant. We had a great time. It was nice to meet for dinner, plus I didn't have to cook either. Jeff drove over for dinner and he brought his usual gift... a picture that has been altered. Well, that was the talk of the table. It was a huge hit with a huge laughing roar. Pictured below... you might have to look close, but it's worth it.

Peaceful times

Nicholas and Nate started their swim club this past week.
They swim from 5-6 PM, Monday-Thursday at the middle school. They do multiple laps in the huge pool. By Thursday night, you can certainly see how "pooped" they are, especially Nate. He was sleeping on the couch by 7:30 PM. Boy, was it a quiet evening. :o) Bella was in heaven that someone was actually staying put in one place so she could snuggle.

Lakeview Homecoming VS Harper Creek

Friday was spirit day at school. Homecoming week brought many different colors and images for the Jones boys at their schools. Friday was my favorite.... PURPLE AND WHITE day. Nick and Nate chose to have their hair colored and their faces painted. They both asked if I was going to put anything on. I chose to stick with just a Lakeview shirt and that's it. I can't seem to put anything in my hair or on my face. They most definately have more PURPLE PRIDE than I do.

Oh, I should add... Lakeview 26 / Harper Creek 7

I worked the taking tickets at the visitor side for the game. I saw many of my HC and Lakeview friends there. That to me, was the best part of the game.
The game came second. :o)

Grandpa Jones visits for the 1st football game.

Grandpa Jones came to cheer Nick and Nate for their first game. GO JETS!!!
The boys were so excited to have him visit us. We just have to put up with his
"corny" jokes. :o)We wish we could see him more often. The boys love to see him.

Jones and Jones, what a great combination together. The first play of the game, Nicholas threw a touchdown pass to Nate.
Eight touchdowns total for the first game.
It was a sweet as you can imagine.

Nate quick on his feet "jucked" kids left and right (including his cousin Brendan) to catch 3 touchdowns for his first game.

Cousin on cousin.... Nicholas and Brendan had to gaurd against each other.

Let it Rain!

Welcome to our side yard. I guess when we pray for rain, God answers prayers. :o) I'm just thankful that it's flooding my yard and not my basement. So, the boys soon found entertainment with the amount of rain that we've gotten.

Our power went out during the heavy rain on Saturday night. The boys had a bright idea to go ride their bikes in the rain. Oh, why not! Wow, did they have a blast. It was the highlight of the weekend. When it rains heavy like this our streets flood so bad that it drowns our yards along with it. There were a couple of times we had to chase the floating crocks... shoes on the loose.

We had to take a picture and prove to how deep the water got in our neighbor's yard. They are truly standing flat footed...

Once they were done with riding their bikes they moved to the next activity...
FOOTBALL. When bordom sets in they soon find something new and exciting to do.
Boys will be boys!

Nate and Kevin cheer for U of M ... and they WIN!!!

My cousins, Albert and Trisha, have season tickets for U of M football. Each year they are kind enough to share the tickets to the games that they can't make it to. Last year Kevin took Nicholas. It was Nate's turn this year. Normally, Nate does not like crowds or sitting through an entire game like this. Kevin said that he did great and loved every minute of it.
THANKS TRISHA AND ALBERT!!! You two are awesome!
GO BLUE!!!

First Day of school

Nate is in his last year at the Elementary. He is in Mr. Sharp's class. He begged me all last year to request for him to be in his class. Mr. Sharp was an intern in Nate's first grade class at Riverside. He was so excited to be in his class this year.

Nicholas is now at Lakeview Middle School. He is in 5th grade and his teacher is Mrs. Corstange. She's awesome. He loves school. This is the first year that the boys are riding the bus to school and home. The first couple days of school Kevin or I would meet them at the corner where the bus would drop them off. Well, they both... at different times... informed me that they can walk by themselves when they get off the bus. We'll see how long that lasts, especially when it's raining out.

Jordan's visit

We haven't seen Jordan all summer. He has been traveling and working out of state for his job. He was home for a couple of days and spent time with the boys in the pool. That is the only thing they beg for all summer. They love him and love to be with him, and so does Grandma and Papa... and me too... his aunt. :o)

Now, the fun part of Jordan is that he plays rough with the boys in the pool. What else could they ask for? Nate gets sent flying across the pool and is loving every minute of it. You see that this is done with ease, of course Jordan is no small puppy.

The exciting part is... he can send Nicholas soaring through the air with no problem at all. Now that's entertainment. Nicholas loves it. He's the only one that can do this to Nicholas. I'll leave this activity up to Jordan and his big muscles.
We love Jordan!!!!

Tiger Fans

Nicholas and Nate are true Tiger fans. They have wanted a Tiger jersey for some time now, mainly Nicholas wanting a Pudge Rodriguez jersey. I will always remember the day Pudge got traded. I was sitting in my recliner, relaxing from my surgery, and they guys walked into the house. Nicholas walked past me crying and firmly saying, "I don't want a Pudge jersey anymore." I thought for sure that Kevin had punished him and said something to him about not getting a jersey. Kevin soon told me that Pudge had been traded.... TO THE YANKEES!!!!

It only took about a week for his thoughts to change about his "favorite" player of all time. He then realized that he could get a Pudge jersey for half the price they used to be sold for. He's still hoping that Pudge will return to the Tigers. Nicholas says, "Mom, You know, he is a free agent next season". :o)
Nate's favorite player is Granderson. He's fast like him and plays center field like him. We got this for him and was planning on giving this to him for Christmas, but we couldn't wait for that long. GO TIGERS!!!

G'ma may be 100, but she is still a little girl inside

We decided to go visit Great Grandma. When we got there, she was getting her hair done. She looked so cute, I had to take her picture. She was worried that we would leave and not wait to see her. We waited.

The boys found the game Rumicube. Gavin hadn't played before, se we taught him and helped him out. They boys were excited to see Great Grandma. They hadn't see him in a while.

They were excited to see her, and she was very happy that we waited to see her. We didn't get to visit very long. Her lunch time had already started. If it were up to her, she would have skipped lunch. We couldn't let that happen, could we?

She was just like a little girl. She enjoyed the photo session that we asked her to do. She loved being with the boys, and they love being with her. So, we guided her to her lunch table. We found Aubry at a different table. It's so cute, she introduces her to us every time we're visiting Great G'ma. We just go along with it.

Look how cute they are? I love my Grandma. She thinks that she is 101, not 100. Let's not push it Grandma!
